Coming home from Chile, where I saw the Condor, I could not resist taking the camera and see if something was in the air.

The Condor, he was fast!!

The Warawara above my house, is too!

The next morning the little ones were back.
They were all over the Dividivi tree, that is full of seeds.

Later, the Rufous-collared Sparrow came into the house to pick up left overs and to play with its image in the kettle.

Just the other day, I was thinking of the swallow. A bird still missing on this blog.
Well, it finally arrived! A barn swallow stranded inside the house. After a while, it found its way to an open window, resting a moment before taking off.

Mangoes

Two beautiful mangoes. These are from a garden. There are a lot of mango trees on the island. There is also a Hofi Mango (private) and of course the Parakeets love the mangoes.

But then, they love the seeds or berries of the Wayaka tree too. They come to our garden every morning for a feast.

Mirrors and Bird play

This morning I heard loud screeching and flapping of wings. Suspecting something horrible was going on, I went outside. Only to find a young Flycatcher trying to cling on to the window of our car door to see its reflection.
From the window, it fluttered to the mirror. From there it jumped down to the door again, trying to see itself in the mirror.
This play went on for at least half an hour. Sorry to not film this bird play, but I got some nice shots. Femia Cools.
